Crocheted Circle Scarves

(The pictures have been edited to make the colors look more accurate)

A month or two ago, I decided I really needed to have a circle scarf because they're just so soft and chunky and warm. I considered buying a circle scarf, but I thought it might be fun to make one myself. My mom had taught me how to crochet when I was little, but I never really picked it back up until now. Recently I asked her to teach me again, and I was obsessed for a few weeks. I first crocheted the two scarves pictured, as well as one for my sister, and I ended up creating an Etsy shop to sell handmade items online. The shop includes the scarf and a few cup cozies so far, but hopefully I'll be able to expand my crocheting horizons soon. The scarves are so comfortable, and I know I'll be wearing them quite a bit once the weather gets colder. I would definitely recommend purchasing a circle scarf or making one yourself because it will definitely set a cozy autumn feel for your outfit.

If you want to have a look at my shop, it's here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/xheycrochet
If you know how to crochet and want to try this scarf pattern for yourself, this is where I got it: http://peoplewebs.blogspot.com/2011/01/pattern-chunky-circle-scarf.html (I made mine a little longer than hers, starting with chain 141).

Essie Fall Collection

I got really excited this year when fall started because it was an excuse to pick up some new nail polish. I think browns, grays and dark reds are really nice for fall, but I was short on all of those colors, so naturally I had to go shopping. I found the Essie Fall 2013 Collection and didn't buy everything, but this is what I ended up with.
On the left is Cashmere Bathrobe, which looks a little blueish in the picture but in person it's a very dark gray. I do like the color, but it's quite dark so it comes out looking almost black. I already have black nail polish but hey, more is more, right?
The next is my favorite, Mink Muffs. It's a fairly light taupe color that shows up how I would expect from seeing the bottle. This one is actually not part of the 2013 collection, but I did pick it up this year where I found the others. I believe it's from fall 2009.
Second from the right is Twin Sweater Set, which is a really nice deep red. I love red nail polish so I couldn't pass it up. This color is similar to some others I have, but there's no such thing as too much red. At any rate, it's very pretty and warm so it's a good choice for fall. I like the name of this one too because it makes me want to sit around in a red sweater with some hot chocolate. Maybe I should buy a red sweater.
On the right is For the Twill of it. I don't tend to go for such shimmery colors so I don't know if I'll wear this one much, but I bought it because it just had really cool coloring. Very adventurous of me. It comes out gray with some other colors showing up too. I guess I'd describe it as having green, purple and blue tones, and it's very shiny. In some lighting it looks mainly just gray.
Overall I'm happy with these polishes, so you should definitely check them out if you're looking for something for fall.

Hello Internet

Hello everyone,

I'm Tara. This is my very first blog post, as you can probably tell by my not knowing what I'm doing and by there not being any other posts on my blog. I am starting out a beauty blog, which most likely will end up including life stories and various other insights as well.

This is just a sort of intro post, and I will be posting things with actual content in the very near future.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you'll stick around!
